Merchants’ Academy Sports Centre has just finished work on a brand new outdoor Multi Use Games Area.

These fully flood-lit state-of-the-art pitches have a special polymeric surface consisting of a macadam base with a rubber granule shockpad laid on top and are finished with a coloured rubber spray coat.

This means that the surface is not only much safer for athletes, it is also shock absorbent and can take greater force.

As the name suggests, the MUGA can accomodate a variety of sports including;

• Community Projects
• General Recreation
