Terms and Conditions 2018-19

Thank you for your interest in coming to train with Astra.


This page outlines the terms and conditions that you are accepting when you accept a conditional offer to train to teach with us in 2018-19.   As part of accepting this offer you agree to download and return to us the following printed and signed documents within 4 weeks of accepting the offer (or receiving this information) or by the summer induction day (whichever is earlier).

The Declaration of Understanding refers to the following documents, which you should read before signing and returning:

  • Responsibility for Tuition Fees and other charges Policy This sets out what fees must be paid to Astra (by unsalaried trainees), your responsibilities with respect to these fees and the consequences of you not meeting those responsibilities.

  • Data Protection Privacy Statement and Your Responsibilities.  Outlines both how we intend to use your personal data to deliver our responsibilities under the SCITT course, how we exercise our responsibilities is handling your personal data and your rights and responsibilities regarding data protection.

  • Health and Safety Responsibilities:  Outlines both your and our responsibilities for Health and Safety.

  • Complaints Procedure  What to do if you have a complaint relating to our delivery of training.

  • Assessment Policy:  This outlines the assessment methods that we use to assess you against the teacher standards, the impact of failing to meet the teacher standards and contains details of mechanisms in place for where you disagree with decisions taken.

  • Attendance Policy  This outlines the importance of your attendance at all parts of the SCITT programme together with actions required by you in the event of your absence.
